Union Art Gallery 37th Annual Juried Art Show opens tonight 5-8pm!

I have work in this years 37th Annual Juried Art Show at UWM. My Exodus piece got in !

Also my work was chosen for the flyer for the show. Its pretty exciting for me.

This year’s 37th Annual Juried Art Show at the UWM Union Art Gallery has some fantastic artwork from students as far as Whitewater! We hope to see you at the opening tonight, but in case you can’t make it here are details on the show:

Some information on the jurors:

Della Wells is a nationally recognized artist whose work is shown in Europe and throughout the United States. She is the president and founder of the artists’ advocacy group ABEA (African American Artists Beginning to Educate Americans about African American Art).

Fold artist Jose Chavez’s work has been exhibited at the Mexican Fine Arts Museum in Chicago, Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. He is on the Board of Directors at Redline Milwaukee and serves on the Education and Public Programs Committee at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Steve Vande Zande received an MS in the area of leadership with emphasis in the arts from Banks Street College of Education in conjunction with the Parsons New School for Design. he is the President of Redline Milwaukee and an education programmer for the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Visual Hierarchy at Studio 420b – MARN Silent Auction – Friday 16th 5-Late

I will be showing a bunch of my recent paintings and some drawings at Studio 420b for Milwaukee’s spring Gallery Night.  The Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) will be holding a silent auction.  As far as I know there should be food and drink as well as some awesome work by Mark David Gray and Kari Borchert.  Much of the work from my show at The Jackpot Gallery will be there.

Upcoming Shows – October

Busy as the snow plows are going to be in a couple months, I’ve been cranking out a fair bit of work (relative to last semester). I’ve also been showing quite a bit more (Center St. Daze, Riverwest Artwalk, RAA Member Show) and have a couple more shows coming up this month. For gallery night tomorrow (friday) I will be showing at Mark David Gray’s studio down in the 3rd ward from 6-9pm. If you’re on facebook here is more info.

On October 23rd I’ll have a piece in the UWM Union Art Gallery Crossing Over show. There should be a lot of great work from UWM students there. Be sure to look to the right for all the info on what shows I’ve got going on or that I will get going on.
