These are shots from a video installation proposal project for a class last semester.  I really enjoyed the mixing of drawing, video, and sculpture.  I built out of foam core a generic city skyline and projected two videos, the first a shot of one of Milwaukee’s three rivers, and the second right out of my front porch.  Then I drew on the sculpture to solidify and excite different areas of the composition.  You hear traffic, birds, cars, sirens and see people walking, playing basket ball, cars moving, and more.  Hopefully I will at some point be able to build the real thing which I envision as being twenty feet wide and ten feet tall.  The shadows created from the sculpture and projection are beautiful and I feel like it would be even more beautiful if people’s shadows were added from interacting with the piece.
