Daily images will no longer be called “daily images” they will just be posted:
Even though he was a piece of paper, he did his best to defend his paper city.

I’ve been more lax about Daily Images since starting back up. To appease you, here are two images, one today’s, one yesterday’s:

In relation to my last post here is a fun little drawing I did the other day:

Taking a break from posting daily images has given me a lot more time to work. It takes me roughly 15 minutes/day to make uploads of one photo on multiple sites. That is including the time it takes to process the photos (crop/adjust contrast/size/etc). So in one month that is 7.5 hours of time that could be spent on art making.
Well, I’m back at it again so here is the first of many more images to come. Enjoy!

If I were a fish and you wanted to catch and eat me you would cast a line with some figure-ground relationships, spacial definitions, or some sort of perspective on a hook and wait 5 seconds. When I first saw Alex’s work a year ago I was a bit unsettled by the flat spaces, intense geometry, and mass of figures intertwined in narrative.
Today his work appeals to me for several reasons. I’ve had the privilege of seeing a sizable amount of his work (we are the same major) and am struck by the consistency of his style, his complex figure relationships, and his ability to combine flat geometric shapes with a variety of spaces/environments. To me these three elements in his work make his images continuously captivating every time I look at them. Below are some of my favorite works by Alex:
Also, Alex and I did an art trade several months ago, which you can find the results of here.
Here is a link to Alex’s Facebook.
Today is special because 1 = 6. About half way through this drawing I decided to start photographing progressions in the work. I find snapshots of drawings in progress to be almost as, or more, interesting as the original image. Related to Guardians of Gaia here they are:
